Held in March every year for over twenty years, it’s outside of Durban off a long stretch of dirt road that often turns to mud around this time of year.  But that doesn’t deter the 8,000 music fans that the festival brings in.  Splashy Fen is one of the most vibrant music festivals the world has seen, with a stunning number of acts performing over the 5-day event.  Catching even part of the festival would be an extraordinary way to get to know South Africa, and the music.  There are loads of international acts, but the majority is from here, playing a beautiful array of styles and traditions.  The event is also very family friendly, and rumor has it that the coffee’s very good…  With all this live music, outdoor activities, and general good cheer served up South African style, Splashy Fen is a real splash!
