Looking back on childhood is a fairly common hobby of most adults. They may spend hours reminiscing with siblings and friends over games, activities, and holidays. Many have a specific place that they associate with their childhood, maybe a secret spot where they went to be alone or a favorite playground where they met their friends every day. Some may find that their favorite memories of the swing set in their own backyard. They spent hours swinging alone or in competitions with their friends and siblings to see who could swing the highest or the longest. They may even have seen who could jump the furthest or do fancy moves.

Many adults carry that love of swings into adulthood. They participate in competitions, swinging over 20 feet in the air and leaping off. They also attempt various swing flips , acrobatic feats of flips, twists, and landings that would make a gymnast proud.

Avoiding Accidents at Disney World

Sooner or later nearly everyone ends up at Disney World or Disneyland — or one of the many other Disney theme parks spread all over the world. Kids go for the magic and adults take the kids or go on their own to recapture their childhood .

It is wise to remember that, however small, there is always a chance of Disney World accidents marring an otherwise perfect vacation. While the catastrophic accidents can’t be prevented, there are plenty of steps guests can take to reduce their chances of falling victim to smaller accidents.

Start by protecting yourself. Wear comfortable clothes that suit the climate and protect you from the weather. This includes hats, scarves, and sunblock. Drink plenty of water, eat regular meals and take rest breaks throughout the day. The number of breaks will depend on the ages of the people in your party as well as their health conditions.

Speaking of health conditions, make sure to have any prescription medication or equipment handy and carry basic first aid supplies for minor cuts, scrapes, and insect bites. Don’t get on a ride if you have a medical condition that is on the prohibited list.

The most important thing is to be alert to immediate hazards, such as things you could trip over or fall into, and to follow all park rules , no matter how simple-minded they may seem. These two things alone can help you avoid almost every possible accident.

Carefree Golfing

Carefree, Arizona equals golfing. There are three golf courses in this resort town; Desert Forest Golf Course, which is a private course and two at the Boulders Resort, the North course and the South course. All courses are award-winning golf courses and offer tournaments.

The Desert Forest Golf Course , located 37207 N. Mule Train Road, is a private 18-hole Desert Forest course, featuring 7,011 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par 72. The desert course features grass from tee to green on all its holes and the greens are fast and sloped. The natural terrain comes into play at both sides of the fairways, forcing golfers to be accurate with their shots. 73.8 is the course rating and a slope rating of 149 on Bermuda grass. This course has six dogleg fairways, four to the right and two veering to the left. Desert Forest was designed by Red Lawrence in 1962; Jack Snyder remodeled two holes in 1978. In 1994 Desert Forest Golf Course hosted the Phoenix Silver Pro AM.

The Boulders Golf Club and Resort, which is one of the five star Carefree hotels , located at 34831 N. Tom Darlington Drive, has two resort golf courses; the North course is an 18-hole golf course featuring 6,291 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par 72; and the South course features a 6,073 yard course with a par of 71. Both are designed by Jay Morrish. The North opened up in 1985 and the South opened in 1991. There are plenty of challenge for any golfer that come with stunning views. Resort guests have the opportunity to play one of the two courses on alternating days; a small private membership plays the course not used by resort guests. Each course is meticulously maintained and each layout is set amongst desert brush and cactus, which makes it imperative for golfers to keep shots on the fairways. The large rock outcroppings or ‘The Boulders’ makes judging distances interestingly difficult.

If you’re not a golfer, visiting Carefree for a few days will make you wish you were, because the surroundings of both golf courses are the best that Carefree has to offer.

Italy in Singapore

I kind of wanted to go to Italy, but she said we should go to Singapore, because she heard it was interesting, and it was a childhood dream of hers, and I was so annoyed that I just agreed. We could go to lots of different restaurants, and they have Italian food, so it would be almost the same, but not the same. If it were up to me, we’d all be agreeing whenever there was anything to talk about, because the way it works, we all disagree about small things.

Place might not be a small thing. I really don’t mind being in Singapore, either, it’s great. There’s lots of things to do every night, and cool culture everywhere. I can even find the Italian shoes I was looking for, because fashion seems to be a big part of how they do things here. It’s also a pretty distinctive place, where traditions from all over the planet kind of come together. The Italian food is really pretty amazing too. But after being here for just a few days, I want to try everything else, too.

Again, place is not small. It might even be worth arguing about, because places have histories, human beings, and memories. These things are worth our trouble and our time. What I think isn’t worth all that much trouble, and not worth arguing about, are little things. Things like how you might like to eat some pastas with a spoon. And how parmesan cheese doesn’t go on everything, it really doesn’t. And if you happen to make out with your girlfriend’s best friend at a party where everyone said none of this matters here, then it should be swept under a rug or something, but I have a feeling we’re going to talk about it soon enough.

They have been an integral part of the Finnish household for centuries, and they have highly evolved rituals for their communal saunas. They have been places for cooking, living, and even giving birth. There are some fascinating theories about how this might be one of the reasons for the Finns’ reputation for strength and stamina, and they claim that it’s absolutely related. There are many other places in Europe, too, where saunas are particularly central to the culture, and it’s a tradition that continues here in the U.S., with the popularity for the hot tub. Enjoy!

And again, while this may seem fun at the time it will cause damage to the pump and to the other inner workings of the tub, it is very hard to that stuff cleaning out of the system one it is in there. Bubble bath is slippery as well, and aside from the big clean-up aspect, the danger of slipping increases when it is brought near the water. Hot tubs are fun and safe, as long as one does not bring these items in for the soak.
