  Companies who are considering switching some or all of their computing needs to cloud systems can choose from three major options. These are private clouds, public clouds and hybrid clouds which include both. Each provides different levels of security as well as management options.

  Companies who require a high level of security and management control will be best served by private cloud automation . This requires a company to create its own private network, so there are fewer savings in hardware and maintenance costs. However, it still provides a huge savings in internal costs and work effectiveness if the company is large enough to offset the initial investment . Private clouds still offer the ability to share virtual demos, labs, and training with clients.

  Public clouds are internet-based services which are shared between multiple companies and users. These are ideal for companies who require high levels of collaboration both internally and with outside vendors and customers. It’s also good for those whose computing needs are incremental rather than constant. This way they pay only for their actual use and don’t have to invest in large capacity servers that are only used for short bursts. Public clouds are less secure and provide fewer management controls, but are still a good option for many companies.

  Hybrid clouds are a combination of public and private cloud computing options. These are idea for companies with a range of security and control needs. Many cloud companies are beginning to offer both public and private cloud services instead of specializing in only one. This makes it even easier for companies to design systems that suit their needs.
